New Pack for staff who work with people with learning difficulties and dementia

'Supporting Derek' ,launched this week, is based on CRFR research and is published by Joseph Rowntree Foundation. It will be indispensible to care staff and training officers from learning difficulty and dementia settings, as well as community, housing and health care staff. The pack, which includes a DVD and training materials, covers many of the key issues related to diagnosing and responding to dementia in people with learning difficulties.
The short drama included on the DVD (acted by people with a learning difficulty) gives a powerful insight into the reality of dementia and how it might feel to the individual affected.
